EBT is an electronic system that allows benefits to be issued via a magnetically encoded payment card. This card is used to issue General Relief (GR), CalFresh, or CalWORKs benefits, in addition to START ancillary and transportation payments.

What Changed?
- Per an Executive Decision in 2022, Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) Stored Value (SV) Transit Access Pass (TAP) card allotments were limited to just a few district offices due to low issuance. Skills and Training to Achieve Readiness for Tomorrow (START) sites no longer have an inventory of MTA SV TAP cards available. All references and instructions of MTA SV TAP cards were removed.
- The GROW Quick Reference Metro Transportation Fare Increase Chart was replaced by the Metro Fare Chart 2023.
- Acceptable verification documents were updated.
- References to the CalFresh Employment and Training (CFET) Program were removed as START Program was not included in Los Angeles County's CFET Plan for Federal Fiscal Year 2026..
