What changed?
The purpose of this release is to inform staff that effective July 1, 2018, the Statewide Fingerprint Imaging System eligibility requirement for General Relief (GR) will be eliminated.
Note: Changes are shown highlighted in gray throughout the document.
As a result of the SFIS repeal, effective July 1, 2018, an applicant/participant’s fingerprint and photo images are not required to be captured as a condition of eligibility to receive General Relief benefits.
Effective July 1, 2018, the Statewide Fingerprint Imaging System (SFIS) eligibility requirement for CalWORKs (CW), Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA), and General Relief (GR) cases will be eliminated as a result of Senate Bill (SB) 89 (Chapter 24, Statutes of 2017).
